Just out of curiosity, do you think you will ever consider creating a 16mm version of the workprinter?

I'll let Roger give you the specifics, but I happen to know the answer is yes on this one, because I'll be getting one myself at some point down the road.
We've discussed it a few times.
I'm hoping my condenser lens from my S9 Workprinter will work on it, but it will depend on which projector I end up with.
He's built some cool stuff, including optical printers.
He's the mod-man, if you need stuff customized, he's the guy.

That is affirmative. I can do it now at any time that someone wants. I know some feel that negative is more fragile than reversal, but that is pretty much a myth. Film is film and emmulsion is emmulsion. So, if someone wanted to shoot 16mm neg and transfer it the same as the WorkPrinter, that would work just fine.
The cost for the 16mm version is going to be higher due to the increased cost of the used 16mm projectors, but that's all. Haven't fixed a price for it yet. The cost of the used GAFs is pretty constant. The cost of used 16mm projectors is all over the place, depending on their state of grace. However, anyone interested, I can work up a figure for you. I don't think I'll be making a prototype and posting a picture of it but I'll probably be adding something to the web page about it somewhere.

Roger,
What model(s) 16mm projector would be appropriate for modification?
I mean, as you say, the price/ availability of 16mm projectors is more of a crapshoot. What if people were to send their own projectors to you?
Also: any news or progress on the workprinter for Mac? I read the DV post. Now it needs to work with a G3 mouse! Nice updates on the improved model as well.
Take care,
Sam

Virtually any B&H 16mm projector of the "high school AV" type is fine. They don't even have to run or have a good lamp system. They only have to have a clean transport and take up. The motor doesn't even need to work, since I will replace it. If you are interested, send me a picture or link to one you think you are going to buy for this purpose and I'll let you know if it's cool. I haven't formulated a price, yet, but it won't be much more than the 8mm WorkPrinter if you supply the projector.
The WorkPrinter should work with a Mac fine. I just haven't got a Mac system and have no way to test it. All I have to do is modify a Mac mouse, so there really shouldn't be an issue.
